Contactless boom for TfL

Over 14% of TfL journeys now paid for using contactless cards

Transport for London (TfL) says it is the fastest growing contactless payment merchant in Europe for transactions using Visa cards.

Contactless payments were launched on most rail services within the capital in the autumn, and now account for over 14% of pay as you go journeys on TfL services. On 13 March the number of contactless journeys made on a single day reached one million, and over 60 million such journeys have been made in the last six months.

TfL says the top five London Underground stations where customers have made contactless payments are Oxford Circus, Kings Cross, London Bridge, Liverpool Street and Canary Wharf.
